30 years of TV praised
SECRETARY of State for Wales David Jones has congratulated S4C as it marks 30 years of broadcasting.
The channel is celebrating its birthday this week with a series of special programmes.
Mr Jones said: "As a Government we have repeatedly emphasised our commitment to a strong and independent Welsh language TV service.
"The agreement between the S4C authority and the BBC over the future funding of S4C until 2017 provides the stability and certainty the broadcaster needs."
