Merthyr Town Football Club said it would hold a minute's silence at Tuesday night's game at Penydarren Park in tribute to Josh.
A statement on its website read: "Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that Josh Williams and Adam Pembridge were involved in an accident.
"Josh played for MTFC's Academy up until the Under-16s age group and will be sorely missed by family and friends. We will pay tribute to him prior to our next home game on Tuesday night.
"Adam has been involved with the MTFC Six-A-Side league, organised by Richard Bennett, and was no stranger to the football club.
"We would like to send our best wishes to Adam and his family at this time, hoping that he can pull through this very tough time."
