1. Visit the LC, housing the multi-purpose sports and exhibition hall, The Core, and The Edge, Wales's biggest indoor water park featuring the world's only standing BoardRider.

2. Learn archery at The Bowmen of Gower Archery Club, where beginners courses specialising in target archery are offered in a relaxed, friendly environment.

3. Cycle, either on the family-friendly promenade at Mumbles or on the exhilarating mountain-biking tracks of nearby Afan Forest Park, the only UK trail destination to feature in the What Mountain Bike magazine as one of the 10 best places to ride before you die.

4. Walk the picturesque promenade that runs along the sweep of Swansea Bay from Mumbles to Swansea itself, access the miles of coastal path linking secluded coves to vast sandy beaches, including famous Three Cliffs Bay, or even travel to inland Gower for a challenging trek across the peninsular.

5. Surf some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK at Caswell, Langland or Llangennith, or similarly, windsurf at Horton.

6. Take in a round of golf. With Wales named as the Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year in 2003 and the principality gearing itself up to hosting the Ryder Cup in 2010, there has never been a more exciting time to golf in Swansea Bay.

10. Watch pantomime Cinderella, running from the December 17 to January 18 at the Grand Theatre, or the Waterfront Wonderland which will transform Museum Green into a spectacular winter park complete with ice rink, fairground attractions and children's entertainment.
